Benefits of Facial Massage

  • Decreases tension and wrinkles
  • Hydrates and nourishes the skin
  • Reduces stress

Your face has over 40 muscles that are constantly in motion.  Your facial expressions are produced by constant muscle contractions.  Coupled with the increased amount of “squinting” at phones and computers our facial muscles become tense.  This tension can cause headaches and visible signs of aging.  Your face is the most relaxing part of your body to have massaged.  Relaxing your nervous system is one of the strongest benefits of massage therapy.

We use an Image Skin care product for our Facial Massage. Below is a video from Image demonstrating a portion of the 25 minute service we offer.

Vital C Hydrating Facial Oil has the following benefits

  • Rejuvenates tired and aging skin
  • Brightens dull skin
  • Hydrates and nourishes skin

Best for dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin.

The classic example of stress is you being going for a hike in the mountains and encountering a moose and the moose decides to get you.  Your internal physiology immediately changes in order for you to have the best opportunity to meet the challenge the moose presents.  This is called your “flight or fight” response.  Regardless if you chose to run or stay and fight the moose, your body immediately prioritizes and amplifies the systems in your body that are needed to save your life at that moment.  Your heart rate goes up, your metabolic systems mobilize energy, and your muscles tense up.  Conversely, your body shuts down systems that are not needed to immediately save your life like your digestive system, your reproductive system, and your immune system.  We have a highly effective survival mechanism built into our physiology that enables us to respond quickly to adverse environmental situations.

That’s good if you come across a mother moose in the spring just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park with your family while walking your dog and the moose thinks your dog is a wolf trying to gets her newborn calf and so she decides to charge you!  But, we get the same stress response daily and sometimes constantly in our lives.  Our physiology goes into super-human survival mode shuts down our immune system when we are driving to work in traffic.  Stressful careers takes its toll over time and can lead to diagnoses like irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, heartburn, and indigestion.  Infertility issues caused by stress can cause families thousands of dollars in fertility treatments.  Our immune system should be able to fight off cancer.  Chronic stress is a risk factor for cancer.

Relax your body with a massage.  Really relax your body with a facial massage.
