What is Infrared Sauna Therapy?
Sweating is your body’s innate method for healing and maintaining health. Infrared sauna therapy enhances this natural process, promoting deep, detoxifying sweat by penetrating human tissue.
Today, environmental medicine has uncovered that sweat isn’t just about temperature regulation; it’s a vital part of the body’s elimination system. Infrared saunas offer a more enjoyable and effective way to detoxify. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas warm your body from within. This unique approach unlocks a range of health benefits. Sauna users often find relief from conditions like fibromyalgia, arthritis, and neck/back pain, thanks to its soothing effect on joints and muscles.
Our mPulse sauna, featuring SoloCarbon heating technology by Sunlighten, provides the most effective infrared wavelengths (near, mid, and far) in the perfect combination for targeted health benefits. Though infrared heat is considered safe and beneficial for most living beings, there are a few contraindications to be mindful of before booking a session. We recommend you consult your healthcare provider if you have any medical concerns.
Infrared Sauna Therapy FAQs
What should I wear / bring?
You don’t need to bring anything with you to the sauna, we’ll provide everything you need. But if there’s anything you’d like to bring along for your comfort, please feel free to do so.
We’ll provide a towel for you to use during your sauna session. While many people choose to wear a towel or a bathing suit inside the sauna, you are welcome to wear whatever makes you feel at ease.
It’s important to note that due to the heat, most people choose not to wear regular clothing or undergarments during the session as you’ll likely work up a good sweat.
We recommend avoiding the use of any jewelry, including earrings, piercings, rings, watches/smartwatches, etc… in the sauna. Please note that we are not responsible for any damages incurred.
After your sauna session, we’ll provide a second towel for freshening up.
Staying hydrated is essential, but please remember that plastic water bottles cannot be used inside the sauna.

Is it okay to use the sauna with a cold?
Can children use the Sauna?
In cases where a parent prefers not to use the sauna simultaneously with their child, we’ve provided a chair in the same room as the sauna where the parent can comfortably sit and relax while supervising their child.
Children under 16 years old are not recommended to use the sauna due to their unique physiological factors. The core body temperature of children increases more rapidly than that of adults due to factors like their higher metabolic rate per body mass and limited circulatory adjustment to heightened cardiac demands. Additionally, children may have difficulty regulating body temperature through sweating. If you have a child, under the age of 16, interested in using our infrared sauna, please speak with our front desk team about a shorter 10-15 minute session as a gentle starting point.
Can I bring a friend?
How should I prepare for my sauna session?
The Sauna Protocol
Before Your Session
- Allow 1-2 hours after eating before your infrared sauna session.
- Drink at least 8 ounces of water to prepare for increased core body temperature.
- When scheduling, choose a health benefit program for your session. Our mPulse Smart Sauna offers six pre-set programs, including cardio, detox, weight loss, relaxation, pain relief, or anti-aging. You can also customize your program with our staff’s assistance.
During Your Session
- Listen to your body and adjust based on what it’s telling you. If you feel flu-like symptoms, discontinue and let our staff know.
- Everyone sweats differently. You may not sweat during the first few sessions. Sweat will increase with regular use.
- Staying hydrated is essential, but please note that plastic water bottles are not allowed in the sauna.
After Your Session
- Rehydrate with 8-24 ounces of water or an electrolyte drink.
- Use your sauna sessions as a warm-up before exercise, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, rolfing, or simply towel off and cool down naturally. You can also enjoy a sauna session after any of these treatments for an enhanced experience.
What should I do while I'm in the sauna? Can I bring in my phone?
While you’re in the sauna, there are many ways to make the most of your session. You can choose to stretch, read, meditate, listen to music, or even catch up on your phone. It’s your time for relaxation and rejuvenation.
We do not recommend you take your phone or other electronic device into the sauna with you. Please be aware that we can’t take responsibility for any damage that may occur as a result if you do.
Our sauna has some built-in entertainment options, including music. Please ask the front desk for more information about the options available.
Staying hydrated is essential, but please note that plastic water bottles are not allowed in the sauna and metal bottles may heat up.
Enjoy!

Infrared Sauna Benefits
Infrared Sauna Benefits
Increase Metabolism & Burn Fat
The sauna’s red light/near-infrared wavelengths revitalize metabolism and enhance fat burning, providing a natural energy boost. Elevating core body temperature can lead to increased calorie expenditure, akin to physical activity. Additionally, our infrared saunas aid in detoxifying your body, eliminating toxins linked to fat storage.
The Sunlighten mPulse Smart Sauna Pre-Set Programs
Our sauna features 6 specialized Wellness Programs, each designed to target specific health benefits.
Sunlighten’s heating technology is truly unique. It involves intricate calculations, factoring in surface size, surface temperature, and material for each wavelength. Sunlighten’s patented heaters have the exceptional capability to reproduce all three wavelengths (near, mid, and far), along with red light, within a single unit. Our six pre-set programs guide these heaters to emit precisely the right combination of infrared wavelengths, informed by 56 data points derived from 37 studies examining how infrared interacts with the body, to attain the desired outcomes.
While we suggest starting with one of these scientifically-backed presets, they can also be tailored to your personal preferences. If you’d like to learn more or explore customization options, our front desk team would be happy to assist you.
Cardio
- 40 Minutes
- Red Light / Near, Mid, and Far Infrared
- The program begins at a high intensity to elevate heart rate and cardiac output, then gradually decreases to maintain a steady heart rate level. This optimized pattern boosts circulation, supporting healthy blood pressure levels.
Detoxification
- 37 Minutes
- Mid and Far Infrared
- The program initiates at a high intensity to elevate the body’s core temperature and subsequently decreases to a lower intensity level. This combination of mid and far infrared wavelengths enhances vascular access flow, enabling a deeper cellular-level reach to target toxins.
Pain Relief
- 30 Minutes
- Red Light / Near, Mid, and Far Infrared
- A combination of mid and far infrared wavelengths offers natural pain relief by reducing inflammation and swelling. Simultaneously, near infrared penetrates the tissue, fostering cellular repair at a consistent, moderate intensity level.
Relaxation
- 40 Minutes
- Red Light / Near, Mid, and Far Infrared
- The blend of far, mid, and red light/near infrared induces profound relaxation, alleviating muscle tension at a gentle, comfortable intensity. This promotes comprehensive stress reduction.
Weight Loss
- 30 Minutes
- Mid and Far Infrared
- Begins with a high-intensity phase to stimulate the cardiovascular system, then transitions to a moderate level. As the body naturally cools itself, this process elevates heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, akin to aerobic exercise.
Anti-Aging
- 30 Minutes
- Red Light / Near, Mid, and Far Infrared
- Maintaining a gentle, consistent intensity level, the light energy penetrates the body, allowing cells to absorb it and promote skin health. Red light/near infrared wavelengths enhance skin tone, elasticity, and firmness, offering anti-aging benefits.
Please Note: These programs are engineered using precise infrared wavelengths rather than focusing solely on cabin temperature. Throughout each program, you’ll experience varying heater intensities and cabin temperatures, so don’t be concerned by any unexpected temperature fluctuations. The effectiveness of these programs is rooted in the surface temperatures of the individual heaters, not the air temperature.
*Very Important: At the time of booking, please discuss the type of massage or other service you are expecting when you schedule your appointment. This will ensure we match you with the most appropriate staff member for your needs.
