Frequency-Specific Microcurrent (FSM)

Unlike surgical or high-powered lasers, Erchonia’s low-level laser technology does not generate heat or damage tissue. Instead, it delivers specific wavelengths of light designed to stimulate cellular activity and enhance the body’s natural repair processes.

This form of laser therapy works by introducing light energy into the body at precise wavelengths that cells can absorb and use. When tissues are injured or under stress, cellular communication and energy production can become impaired. Low level laser therapy aims to restore healthy cellular function by improving energy availability and encouraging more efficient healing at the tissue level.

How Low Level Laser Therapy Works

Erchonia laser therapy uses red and violet wavelengths of light that penetrate the skin and interact with cells beneath the surface. These wavelengths are absorbed by structures within the cell—particularly the mitochondria, which play a key role in energy production. This interaction may help increase cellular energy (ATP), improve circulation, and support tissue regeneration.

Because the laser operates at a very low intensity, treatments are painless and typically produce little to no sensation. The light is applied externally over targeted areas, allowing the therapy to influence muscles, joints, nerves, and connective tissues without stressing the body.

Low level laser therapy is often used to calm inflammation, reduce pain signals, and support the repair of damaged or stressed tissue. Its ability to enhance cellular efficiency makes it a useful complement to hands-on therapies such as massage.

Conditions Commonly Addressed with Erchonia Laser Therapy

Erchonia LLLT is commonly used to support recovery and reduce discomfort in a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Acute and chronic pain: Laser therapy may help relieve pain associated with arthritis, joint discomfort, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Soft tissue injuries: Sprains, strains, and muscle overuse injuries may heal more efficiently with laser support.
  • Inflammation and swelling: By influencing inflammatory processes at the cellular level, laser therapy can help reduce swelling and improve range of motion.
  • Nerve irritation: Low level laser therapy is often used to support nerve health and decrease pain related to nerve irritation or compression.
  • Post-surgical and post-injury recovery: Laser therapy can be helpful in supporting tissue repair and reducing discomfort during recovery.

Benefits of Erchonia Low Level Laser Therapy

  • Non-invasive and gentle: Treatments do not involve heat, needles, or medications, making laser therapy comfortable and accessible for many people.
  • Minimal side effects: Erchonia laser therapy is FDA-cleared and well tolerated, with a strong safety profile.
  • Targeted and efficient: Specific wavelengths allow treatment to be directed toward affected tissues with precision.
  • Supports natural healing: By enhancing cellular energy and circulation, laser therapy works with the body’s own repair mechanisms rather than forcing change.

Integrating Laser Therapy Into Your Care

Low Level Laser Therapy is an excellent addition to both massage and Frequency-Specific Microcurrent sessions. When combined with hands-on work or microcurrent, laser therapy can help prepare tissue for treatment, calm inflammation, and support longer-lasting results. Many clients find that layering these therapies allows their bodies to respond more efficiently and comfortably.

We also offer convenient “laser drive-by” sessions, which are focused 20-minute treatments designed for clients who want the benefits of laser therapy without a full session. These sessions are ideal for ongoing support between regular appointments or for targeting a specific area.

While individual results vary, it is reasonable to expect approximately a 10-20% improvement per laser session. For acute injuries, a series of about six sessions is often sufficient to support healing. Chronic conditions typically benefit from a longer course of care, with 10-12 sessions being a common and realistic timeframe for noticeable and lasting improvement.
